Description:
Lambert takes up periodic decimals
again (after his 1758-paper). He now puts Fermat's little theorem (with
proof) into the right context, shows that it can be used as a primality
criterium and how the theory of periodic decimals follows from Fermat's
theorem. Thoughts on how periodic decimals may be used to factor number
of the form 10n-1 end the paper.
